Why should I Vote No?

Price
The Aubrey Fire Department have agreed to carry out the remainder o their contract until the end of 2025 at the current rate of $13.40 per household. Despite the district's attempt to overcharge residents. The Elm Ridge Board has opted to terminate the contract. As a result, if proposition A passes residents will now be required to pay $16.50 per month increasing every year until $22.80 in year five per household for fire services. Why incur additional costs prematurely when the exceptional service provided by the Aubrey Fire Department remains unchanged? Why fix what isn't broken?

Response Times
The Aubrey Fire Department has announced a new station is set to be built on Winn Ridge Blvd, strategically located between the entrances of Ashlyn Circle. Anticipated to open in the summer of 2025, ground-breaking for this facility is scheduled to commence within the next couple of months. Situated just 3 streets north from Arrowbrooke, this station promises significantly faster travel times to both Arrowbrooke and Savannah. In contrast to the challenges faced by Little Elm Station 3, which requires navigating through heavy 380 traffic and making left turns for responses, the new Aubrey station will encounter zero 380 traffic and make all right turns to access entrances to Savannah, thus dramatically reducing response times.

Dispatch Delay
In the Elm Ridge community, when you dial 911, a Denton County dispatcher responds, followed by the dispatch of the Aubrey Fire Department. This process generally takes about 30 seconds to a minute. However, the Little Elm Fire Department operates through the City of Denton dispatch. If Proposition a passes when you call 911, Denton County dispatch will answer and ask questions to determine you need fire or EMS services they must then physically call the City of Denton and transfer the call. The city of denton dispatcher will then ask the same questions and ascertain the need for fire/EMS service and dispatch the appropriate units. This delay can take approximately 5 to 12 min. This isn't as simple as flipping a switch.
If Little Elm does not have a unit available for service and requires mutual aid and Denton County dispatch must once again contact either Denton County or Collin County dispatch to request assistance. In critical moments where every second matters, why knowingly introduce delays into the emergency response process?
